It's a new moon and Lunar New Year tomorrow. I love that we live in a cyclical world where there are always new beginnings, chances to let go of what is unnecessary and start fresh. We can be aware of these moments and express them consciously or we can be shaped by the moment. Either way we will live it.
In complement to my focus last month on what is going right, my focus this month has been what can I uproot, sweep clean, strip back? How can I bring more lightness and harmony to my daily ways?
I know that it's tradition to thoroughly clean the home before the Lunar New Year, to sweep out the old in order to welcome in the new. Have you felt any of this energy lately? Maybe not just in your physical home, but in your body, mind, relationships or virtual spaces...

This feels particularly important for those of us emerging from long periods of isolation. What are we carrying with us as life becomes busy and external again? Can we be more discerning? Can we let go of some heaviness?
My working list
High on my list to sweep clean is my online security and sense of virtual safety. I've listed the ways I am working towards this below. It is an ongoing process and I'm not sharing to prescribe what to do. Just hoping, if this resonates, my experiences may be helpful.
- deleting all social media apps from my phone - only logging in via my computer so it feels like work/ learning rather than mindless entertainment
- adding positive e-magazines and e-books to my phone to soothe the addiction of needing to scroll
- using my body as a timer for how long I spend on screens. And my nervous system as a gauge for if apps and sites feel safe or unsafe
- using an encrypted messaging service
- installing a password manager
- gradually changing the 50+ passwords that were similar/ identical to auto generated long strong passwords
- clearing dedicated space and time for computer work (separate from my hands-on osteo work)
- really accepting that I work from home now and finding ways for that to be efficient and sustainable eg. streamlined website, booking system, invoicing, fresh business cards

Honouring transitions
My family will be celebrating in simple ways this week, particularly honouring all the tender feelings of transitions. I have returned to a real life yoga class and am noticing my body's sense of overwhelm and pleasure and resonance to be in a community space again.
My husband (who had a head injury last November) is adjusting from recovery mode to integration of a busy work/ life schedule. Learning just how much rest he needs and when to challenge himself further. And my daughter has started grade one confidently.
I hope you can be gentle with your body and nervous system in this time. I'm here for you if you need an osteo session to recalibrate.
Take care,
Emily
