Holidays are holy days (again)

Holidays are holy days (again)

the wild, changeable energy of spring, "it doesn't take much to miss your life"

We are in the midst of school holidays again. I've needed lots of self care and compassion. And I've been particular about taking my time... time to notice the small details of family life, so precious and mundane.

Time to hold a wider perception of the changing season, the colours of the sky, how day and night are equal length for a brief time at equinox.

There is a kind of balance in the wild, changeable energy of spring. It can be soothing (and/or irritating) to swing back and forth between opposites -  rain and sunshine, relaxation and rising energy, stillness and racing thoughts, conversation and silence, icy wind and warm fires.

It stretches my capacity to hold more, enjoy more, feel more.

This poem captured some of the holy, messy, human feelings I've been experiencing lately. It's called how to miss your life even as it's happening by Yrsa Daley-Ward.

I hope you are feeling alive and loved and finding new ways of balancing. I'm back to work on 30 September. Here if you need support,

Emily
