- Description: being a vulnerable complex human, finding balance

This month has been messy and chaotic for me. My days have been busy and agitated and my nights have been restless. I don't have any neat ideas or wisdom to share today, I'm just showing up as a vulnerable, complex human. *I wonder how you're feeling lately?*

For those like me, who are weary of the spaciousness of summer, I am happy to say it is Autumn Equinox today. We can start wrapping up in the crispness of shorter days and longer nights.

But for now, this is a moment of equal light and dark. *What do you need more or less of to feel a sense of balance?*

I'm finding balance by:

- crying when I feel sad. This might sound normal to some, but I am very good at ignoring and suppressing my feelings when they arise, so it feels radical to let myself cry when I need to.
- walking everyday, whether I feel like it or not. The daily devotion and consistency is balancing.
- reading for emotional soothing and support. My latest book is [Quiet by Susan Cain](https://www.penguin.com.au/books/quiet-9780141029191?ref=emilymorter.com)
- watching Saltwater Songline's beautiful presentation [I am Estuary](https://www.saltwatersonglines.com/presentations?ref=emilymorter.com)
- observing my daughter's joy and growth. And celebrating her birthday this month.

I have enough balance to provide a soft sturdy space for osteo and doula work, so don't hesitate to reach out if you need support.

With love,

Emily
