It feels strange to be moving into the last part of the year. It's simultaneously suddenly upon us *and also* 2022 has already been long and challenging. And I'm sure these last few months will require more of us.

This time of year is traditionally associated with Halloween; a time of letting go and rituals for the dead. However here in the southern hemisphere we are entering the season of Beltane; the bright energy and fruitfulness of Spring. I've come to recognise both these seasonal moments as reminders of the *life/death/life cycle* that is a constant part of our existence.

I find it a good time to reflect on what we are carrying - outdated beliefs, old routines, unexpressed feelings or aches and pains in our bodies. Anything that we feel we are dragging along. Can we begin to untangle some of this? Dismantle what isn't working to rebuild new ways?

Can we be curious about the possibility of letting go, dropping something, talking about what is stuck or broken? I love the idea of *composting with purpose* \- finding a way of intentionally letting go, with the possibility of rebirth and a different future.

Beltane flowers, North Melbourne, Oct 2022

Last week the Victorian government (and most other Australian states) announced the end of mandatory mask wearing and isolation while COVID positive.

As part of my commitment to community care, I will continue to wear a mask indoors, use a rapid antigen test weekly and isolate for seven days if my household is COVID positive.

And I will still be checking in with all my patients before every appointment, asking you to stay home if sick and recommending you wear a mask during treatments.

I'm thinking a lot about the growing inequalities in the ability to access health care safely and financially. I am in the midst of reassessing my pricing structure and my schedule so I can offer a sliding scale of fees and more home visits when needed.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about this or any other needs you have. You are always welcome to reply to these emails.

With love,

Emily
